Rally for Recovery! 2008 |
![]() |
Faces and Voices of Recovery (FAVOR) Greenville promotes long-term recovery from addiction through education, advocacy and recovery support services resulting in healthier individuals, families and communities. People in recovery and their family members, by speaking out and putting a human face on recovery, play a critical role in breaking down barriers by educating the public about the disease of addiction and fighting stigma to end discrimination against those seeking and maintaining recovery.
FAVOR Greenville was organized in 2004 after a county-wide study revealed a significant deficit in effective treatment and recovery support services to meet the needs of more than 22,000 citizens age 12 and older who are suffering from substance use disorders in the county. Membership is open to any interested citizen who is committed to the goals of FAVOR and willing to give time and resources. Currently, there are 197 members of FAVOR Greenville , including the 14 member board and the 39 member Resource Team. The Resource Team is composed of community leaders and professionals in the field of addiction treatment and related agencies.
FAVOR Greenville is currently advocating for a full continuum of effective recovery-based treatment services for the Upstate; the establishment of a Recovery Action Center to provide recovery support services to those in early recovery; and a voter registration campaign that is kicking off at the Livingston Taylor concert on September 13. If you would like to join FAVOR Greenville, please contact janepressly@charter.net.
