The core beliefs of FAVOR SC are:
- Recovery is a reality in the lives of millions
- There are many paths to recovery
- Recovery is a voluntary process
- Recovery flourishes in supportive communities
- Recovering people are part of the solution
- Recovery gives back what addiction has taken away
FAVOR SC incorporated as a non-profit 501c(3) is 2006 and currently consists of five chapters:
- FAVOR Greenville
- FAVOR Charleston
- FAVOR Midlands (Columbia)
- FAVOR Tri-County (Rock Hill)
- FAVOR Pee Dee (Florence)
The Board of Directors is comprised of two representatives from each chapter and several consultants who graciously volunteer their time and talents. Officers are:

Current Initiatives
Campaign to Repeal the Alcohol Exclusion Law (AEL) in South Carolina:
FAVOR SC, along with the SC Hospital Association, SC Medical Association, SC College of Emergency Physicians and others worked to repeal the Alcohol Exclusion Law in the SC House and Senate during the 2009 legislative session. While the bills did not pass this year, we will continue our efforts in 2010.

Annual Statewide Conference:
FAVOR SC held its annual education conference,“Recovery Advocacy in Action” on April 25, 2009.
Speakers included Susan Holman, MD and Greg Dill, MD
of Pavillon; Eric Gopelrud, PhD of Ensuring Solutions;
Pat Taylor of Faces and Voices of Recovery and Neil
Kaltenecker of the Georgia Council on Substance Abuse.
