FAVOR | SC is a council made up of chapters throughout the state that are part of the National Faces & Voices of Recovery Campaign. For more information about this campaign, please visit us on the web at www.facesandvoicesofrecovery.org

We are working to unite the recovering community into one voice, in order to remove barriers to recovery from addiction for citizens of South Carolina and their families.

Incorporated as a non-profit 501 c (3) organization in April of 2006, this effort was launched by grass roots advocates across the state, with four charter chapters:

  • FAVOR Greenville
  • FAVOR Midlands
  • FAVOR PeeDee
  • FAVOR Tri-County

Together, FAVOR SC is working to end stigma and discrimination, broaden social understanding, and rally those in recovery and those who support recovery to speak as one voice.

FAVOR SC works to further these goals by

  • Supporting all roads to recovery
  • Promoting laws and social policies that reduce alcohol and other drug problems and support recovery
  • Educating the public and health care professionals
  • Providing living role models that illustrate the power and proof of recovery

FAVOR SC believes that:

  • Recovery is a reality in the lives of millions of individuals, family members, friends and allies
  • There are many roads to recovery
  • Recovery flourishes in supportive communities
  • Recovery is a voluntary process
  • Recovering people are part of the solution
